Welcome New Board Members!

We are excited to announce that in the past few months two new Board Members have joined our team: Michael Wu and Casey Mullins.

Headshot of Michal Wu

Michael is a long time Bay Area resident, and has a strong community service ethic. He began his career at BUILD in East Palo Alto, an organization that uses entrepreneurship to ignite the potential of youth from under-resourced communities and propel them to high school, college and career success, and currently works as Deputy General Counsel at Carta. He also has a passion for native plants, hiking, and getting outdoors with his family. Welcome Michael!

Headshot of Casey Mullins

Casey first came to Grassroots Ecology as a college intern in 2018, where she spent her summer learning to restore local ecosystems. She has just completed her undergraduate degree in Earth Systems at Stanford and is now working on a career in environmental communications. Casey is also a docent at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. We are grateful for your continued service Casey!

We are currently looking for additional Board Members to join our organization and strengthen our efforts. If interested in joining, or if you would like to nominate someone, please email Board President Jerry Hearn.

We recognize that there have historically been many barriers keeping certain communities from participating in the environmental field. We strongly encourage people who identify as BIPOC, LGBTIQ+, first- and second-generation immigrants, and other groups underrepresented in environmental work to join our Board.
